A major Belgian recruitment drive is officially underway, offering South African artisans and technicians the chance to earn gross monthly salaries of up to R90,000, along with relocation support and up to 42 days of leave.
Why Belgium is Hiring South Africans
Belgium currently has a job vacancy rate of 4.1%, with over 163,000 positions sitting unfilled. An ageing population and a local skills mismatch have forced European employers to look abroad, and South Africa is an important source of technical skills.
The Forum Jobs South Africa Partnership
To formalise this pipeline, Belgium-based Forum Jobs HR Group and South African firm Beaver Recruitment & Migration have jointly launched Forum Jobs South Africa.
"This is no longer exploratory recruitment—this is structured, ongoing hiring. Europe is building long-term pipelines from South Africa," says Nicholas Avramis, Managing Director of Beaver Recruitment.
A major Belgian industrial company visited South Africa twice in 2025 and has a further recruitment visit scheduled for November 2026, with around 40 South African hires expected over the course of the year.
In-Demand Roles and Lucrative Packages
The recruitment programme will target maintenance technicians, millwrights, industrial electricians, mechanics, manufacturing technicians, and skilled artisans.
Packages on offer include:
- Gross monthly salaries of R52,700 to R92,800 (depending on role)
- Signing bonuses of around R27,860
- Employer-covered flights and visa fees
- Accommodation assistance and lunch allowances
- Support for relocating a worker's family after the first year
Protecting Job Seekers From Fraud
The partnership was also designed to shield job seekers from fraudulent overseas recruitment schemes. Some candidates have previously resigned from stable jobs or spent thousands of rands on paperwork chasing positions that never existed.
By working directly with Beaver Recruitment and a verified employer network in Belgium, candidates are sourced and supported locally, while screening, employer matching, and relocation arrangements are coordinated safely.
Important Note Before Applying
Prospective applicants should be aware that the advertised figures are gross salaries, before Belgian income tax and social security contributions. Actual take-home pay will vary by role, working hours, and shift arrangements.
Note: All non-EU workers must secure a valid work permit (Single Permit) through their employer before relocating. You can read more about the official requirements on the Brussels Economy and Employment portal.
