About the Role

A leading international manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Millwright / Electromechanical Technician to join its technical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising production machinery and supporting continuous improvement across the plant.

This role is ideal for a technically strong, hands-on professional with solid mechanical and electrical proficiency and experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out preventive and corrective repairs
  • Conduct machine inspections, lubrication, alignment, and component replacements
  • Work on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems
  • Assist with PLC fault finding (basic input/output checks)
  • Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and upgrades
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and improve reliability
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives

Requirements

  • Afrikaans Language
  • Trade Test: Millwright, Electromechanic, or equivalent technical qualification
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial production, or processing environments
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and instrumentation
  • Basic PLC understanding (advantageous)
  • Safety-conscious, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work shifts or standby when required
